Currently trying beauty products + reviews [September]

by Rita Salmo

Hi my fellow Beauty-Nistas!!! ✨💖

I’m starting this new monthly post where I will share all/any beauty products that I’m currently trying out and I will also review thus far.  I’ve been a make-up artist for 19 years!!!  I’m always on the hunt for new products to use on my clients and for myself.  Soooo I want to share all that with YOU!!!  I’m HUGE skincare and makeup addict/junkie so lets get started.

Ask me any questions you may have down below and I’ll try to answer as many as I can.

The first beauty products I want to talk about are from RARE BEAUTY By Salena Gomez.  I had to buy some of her products as soon as it launched at Sephora.  I purchased her FOUNDATION, SPONGE, LIQIUD EYELINER, & COUPLE LIP BALMS.

Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation || I’ve only used this a few times but here’s what I have to say.  The name literally speaks for itself!!!  It’s not heavy at all so I wouldn’t say its full coverage but it’s definitely buildable [that’s if you wanted more coverage].  The only thing is that I like my foundations to have a pump and this one has a doe foot applicator.  I also wouldn’t use this on my clients just because they usually want a fuller coverage that wears well all day long.  One more thing I have to mention is that the price isn’t bad at all [$29 using shade 280N]

Liquid Touch Multi-Tasking Makeup Sponge || This has a different feel in comparison to the beauty blender,  the velvet sponge [elcie cosmetics], & the morphe sponge, which are what I use on myself & my clients.  It kinda feels like the disposable wedge sponges. In my makeup bag I have the one from elcie cosmetics and the reason why I like it is bc of the pointy tip it has [perfect for hard to get to areas but it’s always SOLD OUT] and the rare beauty sponge has the same concept [great for under eyes, nose area,  as well as the rest of the face]. LOVING IT SO FAR!

Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner || I like double ended eye liners that have liquid on one end a pencil on the other end.  I purchased this to try it and I really like the tip A LOT just wish it had the pencil on the other end. Its also a very long lasting liner. [used this liner in photos below]

With Gratitude Dewy Lip Balm || Ok so far I like this lip balm 💄 Its very hydrating and gives a lot of color. I was hesitant to buy this at first bc I like my tinted lip balms to have color and most don’t really show up on the lips. I wouldn’t necessarily buy this if you just want a lip balm bc it definetly has color, which I love!

Soooo I just realized as I’m writing this post I have 3 different foundations I’ve been trying.  However, all of them are very different and I’ll explain. I already mentioned the rare beauty one above.  The rest of the products are just random stuff I purchased and wanted to try.

Charlotte Tilbury – Flawless Foundation ||    WOW, 🤩this foundation is amazing!!!  Especially bc I can also use it on my clients for a long lasting full coverage effect. As for me I wouldn’t wear this on the daily bc it’s matte and I prefer something a little more dewy with less coverage.  For someone that wants a full coverage this is a must try foundation bc it’s so beautiful on!!! I will definitely purchase this again. [my shade is 7.5 Neutral] [this is the foundation I used in the photos below]

CC Screen 100% Mineral CC Cream by Supergoop! || I always see so many bloggers talk about supergoop! sunscreen and I never purchased it but when they came out with the tinted CC SCREEN I had to try it.  I like this for just and all over glow that evens your skin complexion just a bit and has an spf 50. [my shade is 306w]  For those of you that want a little more coverage and also has a good SPF I would try this CC+ Cream Illumination with SPF 50+

D-Bronzi™ Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops || OK you guys this reminds me of something I used to use a very long time ago from benefit cosmetics called YOU REBEL.  So back then I never wore foundation until I discovered YOU REBEL, and it was a bronzer/moisturizer but it gave me the best bronzy all over glow with the slightest bit of coverage and this is similar to it except that its a serum, bronzer.  You can also wear it under your foundation if you want too or just wear it alone. Give this a try you won’t be disappointed!

Cils Booster XL Vitamin-Infused Lash Thickening Mascara Primer || I NEVER EVER wore a primer on my lashes and I don’t know why.  You would think for being a make-up artist, I would have at some point in the last 20 years or so but nope! My first time trying a primer was about 2 months ago and its the LOREAL VOLUMINOUS PRIMER and I love it!!! So when this one was on sale during the ulta beauty sale I had to try it.  I just bought this and I’ll be back to actually really tell you how I feel about it.

Lip Glow Oil || I haven’t used this much(all of 3 times), but it gives your lips the best glossy pout!!!

Drunk Elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream || So far so good!  I’ve been on a hunt for a retinol cream thats not so strong but gets the job done.  I received a small sample with my Sephora order and I’ve been trying this.  So lets see how this ends up working out for me.

B-Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Serum || This was also a sample with my Sephora order.  I’ve been mixing it with the retinol cream [above] and applying to my face 3 times a week.
